Windshield Wiper Motor Ebike (24V Ni-Cad)
This is my new Windshield Wiper Motor Powered Ebike:
It runs off of a 24v Ni Cad battery pack that I charge with an RC car charger... has a drill trigger for the throttle. The Windshield washer motor is attached to the frame via a bracket I welded on. I had an extra bike sprocket that I welded to a bolt so it could be tightened onto the windshield washer rotor. A chain connects the custom sprocket directly to the rear sprocket. The Motor seems to work good, but I have only driven it for short periods of time, the batteries only lasted around 10 minutes (I made them out of old drill battery packs.. And i'm not sure if I charged them fully) next comes a li ion pack or something better. Also changing the gear ratios would probably help too...
Notes:
This thing needs a heatsink and fan on the motor, or it will burn up.. Also, the gear inside is only nylon, so it would be best to not put too much stress on it, or to high rpm/torque.. It will melt or strip easily. An industrial sized wiper motor would most likely work better, also a speed controller so the torque doesnt strip the gears.
