HiPEAC 2024 Keynote 3: The design of the Fugaku supercomputer and challenges for post-exascale
With Fugaku, Japan not only stormed to the top of the top500 list of the highest performing computers in the world, it also broke new ground in the use of low-power Arm-based architectures for a supercomputer. In this keynote talk from #HiPEAC24, Mitsuhisa Sato (RIKEN Center for Computational Science) discusses the process, design and build of the Fugaku supercomputer, asks whether 'zettascale' computing is possible, and probes how quantum computing will accelerate workloads.
