Over the course of the last few weeks I have been reminiscing with some friends about going to wrestling school. From 1997 to 2001 (ages 16 to 20), I attended Iron Mike Sharpe's School of Professional wrestling in Asbury Park, NJ and it was overall one of the best experiences of my life. I met a lot of people through there, many of which I still talk to today and it helped me prepare for indy wrestling.
Recently, my friend Steve came across a website that had some pictures from the boardwalk area behind the building and some from inside as well, including pics of a ring that I never saw during the time I was there, so we couldn't figure out the time frame for the pictures. We went by the building to see if it was still there and fortunately it was. This increased out curiosity about what might still be inside the building but the area is currently under heavy construction so getting in would be difficult.
For whatever reason, someone posted a video on youtube from last year, breaking into the building and showing that there is basically nothing but rubble and random debris all over the floors and there seems to be nothing left of what was once an extremely underground wrestling school.
I decided to gather a bunch of clips from over the years at the school and put together a montage video showing that the building wasn't just some abandoned gym from the middle of the 20th century, and that it was still used for something as late as 2001.
