The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of essential workers such as truck drivers, as they worked to ensure the supply of essential goods across Europe. However, truck drivers often have to contend with critical working conditions. How can their situation be improved?
The policy framework for the European Road Transport Sector is still under discussion, and compliance with existing laws, especially after the introduction of the EU Mobility Package in 2020, is challenging.
