John Marston takes Abigail Roberts to Blackwater to propose to her to be his wife.
Cutscene from the penultimate mission of the epilogue, and overall the entire story of Red Dead Redemption 2, ‘A New Future Imagined’.
A little while after Abigail and Jack have returned to John Marston after he bought and built their house at Beecher’s Hope, with the help of Charles Smith and Uncle, John decides to take Abigail into the town of Blackwater for some alone time. After getting their portrait taken at a Photo Studio, and seeing a moving picture, John borrows a canoe to take Abigail out on the lake at Blackwater to propose to her in marriage, using the ring that Mary Linton sent to Arthur Morgan years ago. This scene shows us exactly how it came to be that John and Abigail Marston became married, giving more context to the story of Red Dead Redemption 1, and also making this a sad scene in retrospect.
