A 1 mile run.
100 pull ups.
200 push ups.
300 squats.
Followed by another 1 mile run.
All while wearing a 20 pound vest.
Murph is a workout as iconic as it is grueling.
People across the country do it every Memorial Day to pay tribute to Medal of Honor recipient Lieutenant Michael Murphy and all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe.
They also do it to honor and celebrate all that makes the human spirit amazing.
To not be afraid of challenging yourself.
To Forge ahead, even when you think you can’t.
To celebrate and encourage others to give it their all.
To strengthen a community and to remind ourselves of what we can accomplish, both together and individually.
There are no medals, no trophies and no awards.
But there is a spirit of sacrifice, community and togetherness that feeds all.
