In this video I provide basic instructions for a very basic tape application for a hyperextended great toe...This condition is often known as turf toe.
It is important to check the function of your tape job before returning to sport or activity because you may need to apply additional tape for a greater amount of restriction. Additionally, this tape job is meant as an acute or short term intervention is not a substitute for proper evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation after injury. Long term use of this taping technique could result in hypomobility or a lack of motion at the great toe. This would be an undesirable side effect!
