Over 100 years ago, Taradale was such a small community that the lives lost during the world wars was felt by all. To make sure their friends, family and neighbours were not forgotten, Taradale banded together to raise funds and build memorials still in use today. It was not all a time of grief, as they had a lot of fun holding fundraising events. Since then they have been added to and well cared for, and you can visit them today.
