Speedrunning Resident Evil 4 Remake NO MERCHANT on Professional
This is a NEW GAME speedrun of the NO MERCHANT challenge on the hardest difficulty, Professional. I follow the rules of the RE4R Speedrun Community for a Pro NMG run.
Throughout most of the playthrough I used strategies that were consistent to do for a NO MERCHANT run. However, in some segments, like cabin, the strategy fell apart before it even really got started so I just improv through it. A lot of time is lost to retries - close to an hour, but there is still much more time to save once I learn to do stuff like 1-cycling del lago, not backtracking for safety saves, and coming up with quicker ways to clear all segments consistently.
My overall goal with this challenge is to get a finish time less than 3 hours. I think that is very much achievable, but how fast it can be from there is what I am curious about.
One thing I should mention is I take quite a few breaks throughout the run because I started having pains in my hand while playing. So you may want to use the timeline to skip to the next segment in certain parts of the video.
I hope others that may be speedrunning this challenge find something useful here, and together we find what the fastest possible time can be for a NO MERCHANT run :)
