Viewing under air can be tricky. In phakic eyes, a combination of a few steps makes things work, including refocusing the viewing system, as the presence of air makes the eye very myopic. Decreasing the magnification and a very slight x-y movement also improve the view. Make sure the light is not way in the eye. Narrated video
