As Reality Falls by Terraform | Unrated Insane/Easy Demon
When Terraform released Frigid Voyage last year, I was absolutely blown away, so I've been extremely hyped for this level's release ever since the first preview of it. I'm very happy to announce that the level is just as good as I hoped it would be. I love how the level plays with foreground and background, letting the player travel through what I can see as different dimensions of the same level. The divided parts contrast each other just enough to look distinct but also work very well together with the colors used and never being too stylistically different to where the division is jarring in any way. My only real issue with the level (and this isn't even an issue really) is that I feel like the scale of the level is hindered a bit by the boundaries of the update in which it's created in. With 2.2 being out and stuff like camera controls and free gameplay movement allowing for open gameplay to take a spotlight, it feels weirdly restrictive to be put in such open gameplay that's just as restricted due to the fixed camera. Parts like 72% make it work really well (I mean most of the level makes it work well) but it almost makes me want to see a 2.2 cut of the level in which the camera is freed from the shackles of 2.1 and the visuals are given the scale that they deserve. Overall a fantastic level that makes me so excited to see what Terraform cooks in the future.
