The moment of truth has arrived for the $3,500 Autocar 6x6, Goliath. I bought this 1982 Autocar sight unseen from 1,100km away. The seller told me it "ran great," but after a long trip back to the Alberta prairies, we’re finally getting it into the shop to see if that's true.
In this episode, we use the Cat 950 loader to push the 30,000lb rig inside to thaw out. Once it's warm, I dive into the 3406A Caterpillar engine to see if it'll bar over—and what I find inside the turbo and under the valve covers isn't the "running" engine I was promised.
