Mauro Giuliani, an Italian guitarist and composer of the Romantic era, was celebrated for his exceptional skill and innovative approach to the instrument. The La Tersicore del Nord Op. 147 is a collection of small pieces, and some of them are Giuliani's most charming pieces, in a very simple style for beginners. No. 16 from this collection is a wonderful piece for beginners to learn how to stop the bass and make little grace notes, as well as how to express a dancing character.
