A lot of trucker drivers have asked me if being in a lease purchase program hurts you when it comes to your taxes. Let me be clear you can not depreciate the truck if you are leasing it however, you can write off the lease payments, just like if you are renting a trailer. Those payments can also be write off for both owner operators and truckers in lease programs. But do your own homework, talk to a tax professional (one that knows the trucking industry) and get that second opinion. Hope this video helps someone and stay safe.
