83 Evinrude 90 HP Restoration Will it Run - Part 1 Lubricating the Engine
This is the first in a short series of how to restore an older outboard engine. This project engine is a 1983 Evinrude 90 HP 2 stroke that came with the 83 Boston Whaler Montauk I recently restored. I'm fairly certain this outboard engine has not been run in at least 7 year and probably longer than that. In this video, I introduce the engine, (Howdy sir!) , and basically get some lubrication in the cylinders as well as in the crankcase. Here's the basic order of the videos I expect to create for the series (but not necessarily in this order):
Connecting and synchronizing controls and cables
Pulling, cleaning and adjusting carbs as well as Reed Block
Checking out and repairing any Ignition issues
Starting the unit up and letting it smoke!
