Downscaling NEEDS to Affect FP a LOT More | Elden Ring
One of the biggest failings of the downscaling system on over leveled summons is how it doesn't or barely affects; carry weight (armor defense and poise by extension), natural defenses (from each level up), weapon scaling (upgrades keep their higher scaling and status buildup values), and FP limits. From what testing I've done with a RL 500-600 character and multiple friends' RL 9-60 characters it seems like an over leveled summon is able to keep about 50-55% of their FP which tends to be about 300-310% what a host is capable of reaching. Although this problem lessens at RL 200+, anytime you think a summon has an unreasonable amount of FP for a lower rune level it's because they do.
Here's a full breakdown of this clip's FP abilities and flasks *used*, just to show how large of a cheat code the password summoning system is. Note that a fully upgraded +12 blue flask refills 220 FP, which requires 38 Mind to take full advantage of, and that this is without FP cost reduction or refill increase talismans being considered.

Pretty sure the Furled Finger summon was trying to cure the Scarlet Rot at the end but from their heavy FP use didn't have enough left for the Flame Cleanse Me (14 FP) incantation. Leaving them to panic through their menus and then lock up behind their shield when I noticed that.
