This! Was an undertaking for me! I've wanted to edit both adaptations ever since the new film came out and then ideas started to swirl after the entire adult cast was announced. To say that I am invested in these characters and in this friendship would be an understatement. I feel deeply connected to them and get more and more entrenched in their story the older I get, the farther away from my own childhood I get. This video is my attempt at portraying the sacrifice they made, both as children and later as adults and trying to honor that sacrifice, that promise they made.
As I've said before in previous voiceover-heavy videos, I feel very insecure about using voiceovers. They're my ultimate challenge, personally, and I try to avoid incorporating them as much as I can just because I so often try to tell a story visually and musically. This isn't to say I don't like voiceovers, rather that since I consider them my weakest talent as an editor, I try to make excuses for never using them lmao. But this video would be almost impossible without voiceovers, so ... I tried my best!!!
Just to address the adult cast....I am beyond excited about them all. Sifting through their respective filmographies has made me trust them as actors so much, and I still feel like I'm dreaming that this movie is going to have James fucking McAvoy in it, the love of my life since the alt-Mr. Tumnus days. Jessica and Bill are phenomenal actors and just seeing the fan interactions between the entire cast has me constantly dead and dying.
