What I'd been working on: An original anime-style school girl gamer character. Artwork I later converted into Art prints.
This piece is my tribute to the classic anime cel style - clean lines, vibrant colours, and that unmistakable 90s/early-2000s aesthetic. I imagined a cool, confident school girl gamer who lives for high scores!
As someone who grew up on anime and video games, I wanted to channel that energy into a fun, stylised character that could easily walk into an anime series. Every detail — from the outfit to the pose — was chosen to reflect that traditional look, but with my own spin.

Created using a cel-shaded approach, the piece pays homage to the iconic 90s anime aesthetic seen in classics like Sailor Moon, Initial D, and Serial Experiments Lain — with a modern twist for today’s gamer culture.
