Source – Coaching notes and examples for concept understanding. Important questions of your coaching’s question bank. Study Material, RTP and MTP of ALL past attempts. Atul Agarwal Sir’s handwritten notes.
Approach-
1. For practical topics- See Praveen Khatod Sir’s revision video. They are extremely comprehensive. If not available for a particular topic or you need more clarity, see Atul Agarwal sir’s or Sanket Jain Sir’s revision video. Read your coaching notes for concept learning and examples. Be mindful of marking/highlighting those points which are to be revised on last day and last day revision questions. Solve your teacher’s important questions now. Every such question will have 1-2 new points. Be extremely mindful to elaborate these points beside the question for future revision. Then solve your coaching’s important questions, Study Material, RTP and MTP of ALL past attempts. In new course the focus is majorly on analysis and comments with reference to SCMPE theory, so tough practical questions are not much likely to come.
2. Theory is extremely lengthy and hard to remember. If not revised on the last day, its very hard to remember on exam day. So, what is critical is to learn only that much theory which is possible to be revised. Here I think Atul Sir’s revision video on Youtube and handwritten notes available on his website helps a lot. After solving majority of RTP & MTP questions, I realised he has covered all necessary content which is possible to come in exam.Sanket Jain’s sir Youtube videos are also helpful. He has made videos solving all the questions covered in Study Material, RTPs and MTPs which is very helpful if a doubt comes while solving one. He has made a list of sources of all important and unique questions of institute’s publication which is available on his website, it is highly recommended to use it as a checklist and mark the done ones with comment if necessary . Also, it helps in understanding how to approach case study and case scenario-based question. It’s extremely important to focus more on solving such questions and learning key points from solution of each such question. These would be the points that you have not seen in study material but has been mentioned in the solution. Mark it for last day revision. So, you should focus on learning Atul sir’s handwritten notes and the key/differentiating points of each question’s solution. It is highly imperative that you solve all questions because then only you will learn how to approach them. It took me 15-20 + hours to build confidence for approaching these new types of questions.
3. Go for Study Material - illustrations and questions. In practical questions, try to redraw the outline or form/columns of the answer on the side such that it facilitates quick revision. For long questions, you can write the steps for approaching it for quick revision. Also explaining a particular concept to a friend helps in understanding. If you face any difficulty in any question beyond 10 minutes, search for a faculty’s video on Youtube solving it. Some of CA Final questions are very tough and it’s a waste of time and confidence if you take it on your ego that you will solve it all yourself.
4. Prefer watching a Youtube video where a faculty (like Sanket Sir’s channel) is solving these contents. RTPs generally have tricky questions which if solved first by oneself, may lead to loss of confidence and drain a lot of time. It’s better to learn it to approach in Institute’s way. ICAI updates these contents without issuing corrigendum so stick to ICAI’s website pdf every time. Don’t rely on old pdf and printouts.
5. You might now revise and appear for a mock test. Some people advocate multiple revisions. I had 2 at best. I prefer a detailed study rather than multiple light doses.
