Darkest Night - Hafdís Huld
Darkest Night tells the story of my great grandfather Axel who formed the first union for working class fishermen in Keflavik Iceland in 1931. The owners of the fishing companies wanted to stop the movement so they kidnapped him in the middle of the night and took him out on a boat where they threatened to drown him if he ever came back to the area. He was then left in bad shape far away from home, in the middle of the Icelandic harsh winter. Miraculously he made it back to his wife and 5 kids, but he was never the same after that dark night (oh and that’s my dad in the video).
