A ferrite core inductor is a type of inductor that uses a ferrite core to increase its inductance. Ferrite is a ceramic material made by mixing iron oxide (Fe₂O₃) with other metallic elements. Ferrite cores are used in inductors because of their high magnetic permeability and low electrical conductivity, which minimizes eddy currents and reduces energy losses at high frequencies.

How Ferrite Core Inductors Function
Inductors store energy in the form of a magnetic field when an electric current flows through them. The inductance of an inductor depends on its core material. A ferrite core increases the inductance because ferrite has a much higher magnetic permeability than air or other non-magnetic materials. RF Circuits: Employed in radio frequency (RF) circuits and antennas for signal filtering and tuning.
