A song with a thinly-veiled title about surviving the isolation and loneliness during the COVID-19 Pandemic, meant to be forward-looking into 2021. The long silent ending is on purpose. Duh.

SYNTH & MUSIC GEEK NOTES, kind of lengthy:
Ableton Live is the host DAW. All audio is played and mixed live through Live; all video is triggered live via midi.
Opening drone = combination of Omnipshere and an ASM Hydrasynth custom patch
Rain (both thin & dense) = Rob Papen/Linplug Albino 3
A wooden tongue drum, played once with hands and once with a mallet
Throughout = lots of Omnisphere instances
Bells = Omnisphere/Keyscape; played once, looped throughout, counterpointed with:
Fifths patch = Roland D50 plugin, played once, looped throughout
Filtered drums = a stock Ableton Live drum kit, customized pattern
Massive drums & Egg shaker = Stylus RMX
Zippy percussive bits = A plastic pocket hair comb, sampled several times while rubbed on a piece of wood, then randomly triggered
Moog Voyager = Bass
Harp = Modartt PianoTeq 7
Random “sea notes” in the last half: custom Omnisphere patch, triggered randomly by Live on a set scale and within a three octave range
Master bus: Ableton's factory EQ, factory Saturation, Soundtheory Gullfoss, iZotope Ozone.
Bus Effects: ValhallaDSP Room + Shimmer + Übermod plugins.
VISUALS: This was purposefully meant to visually instill a sense of being alone. Some of us were built for this, me, being one of the folks who thrive in solitude; but I have a few friends suffering in being alone with their internal voices, so I feel for them here.

VISUALDON creates loopable video content, with many free downloads available, but also provides tutorials and how-tos. I suggest throwing a few coins in his hat. I am doing the same here, as his visuals helped to tell my story for this piece.
Otherwise I slapped pieces together in Adobe Premiere Elements and then triggered them via MIDI by way of Ableton Live over to the Magic Music Visuals app. https://magicmusicvisuals.com/
I would have had more images of my playing the "live" bits interspersed but quite honestly with a complex piece such as this, with prearranged sampled bits and mini-song-pieces? It would be like watching me check my email. Still? It was played "live," FWIW.
