The eastern winds stir as the horse lords descend on the north.
The Grand Prince Raganvad has disappeared. No claims about his whereabouts have been provided with clear evidence, and after a couple weeks time, only the worse can be assumed. In his place, the Sturgians have named Lady Svana as queen regent of the kingdom until Raganvad can be located.
The appointment of a new leader has naturally raised suspicion among the lords of the realm, especially with the vague and mysterious nature of Raganvad's disappearance. While all the great lords have nominally accepted the new queen's reign, it is too early to tell if everyone is truly committed to the new regent.
This is exactly the instability the Khanate is hoping for. Monchug Khan has mobilized his riders and descended on the west, with one of the largest Khuzait hosts seen in Calradia proper in recent years. Being one of the first of the Khans to settle down and shift away from a nomadic lifestyle, the Khuzaits enjoy the stability and production ability of cities and castles while still utilizing their deadly ability on horseback.
Queen Regent Svana will have her work cut out for her as the Khuzaits barrel towards Tyal. The Khan must be confident if he is attacking a Sturgian city - this marks a clear escalation in the building instability in Calradia since the death of Neretzes' and the shattering of the Imperial alliance.
Luckily Svana has the backing of many great warriors. The Sturgians are no strangers to war - among their ranks are both some of the greatest fighters and tacticians of the time.
They will need everyone united if they hope to resist hundreds of horse archers coming over the hills.
