roleplaying on official vanilla Rust servers is a lesson in punishment. your self-imposed rules are strange and confusing to other island residents, and breaking those rules comes with no retribution but your own. roleplayers and their playstyle are but hapless fodder to zergs and solo grubs alike. but despite the odds, some official servers have established RP communities with years of lore, and years of experience creating societies amidst the anarchy. today we revisit one of those islands for an unscripted movie-length story that blurs the line between wholesome and horror.
the Micro Motel was built in the shadows of a much larger hotel; perhaps one of the largest hotels ever built on a vanilla Rust server. Bobby Lunn and his crew of seasoned Rust veterans with a combined -14.2k RP points between them established this alternative, rent-free Micro Motel facility to observe and track the every movement of its only resident. the mission was a scientific one: to document and research the mind of a fresh spawn. but the results become wrapped up in a riddle, a Gordian Knot tied by Rats The Builder, leaving forever unsolved exactly who was being tested.

Protect yourself from other players, and kill them for meat. Create alliances with other players and form a town. Do whatever it takes to survive.
