“We are a company that goes beyond profit, with an enduring vision for the common good.”

Listen to Ms. Nina D. Aguas’ full speech as the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) recognizes InLife with four (4) golden arrow award in Corporate Governance for InLife’s 2022 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) during a virtual Corporate Governance (CG) Seminar for Insurance Companies on 18 May 2023. Here, she describes the journey of InLife as it improves its CG and sustainability practices over the years, as well as the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) activities that are in place. The ACGS is composed of 184 questions based on publicly available disclosures on companies’ websites. It aims to raise the corporate governance standards and practices of the country and to make Philippine businesses attractive to investors. The ACGS measures the performance of companies in the areas facilitating the rights and equitable treatment of shareholders or members, how they relate to their stakeholders, how they ensure transparency and accountability and how the board guides the company strategically, monitors management and ensures accountability to its stakeholders. For the insurance industry, this is assessed annually by ICD and the Insurance Commission.

ICD held an in-person event called the “2023 ACGS Golden Arrow Awards” in Okada Manila, Philippines on 28 September 2023, to formally recognize Insurance Companies and Publicly Listed Companies with exemplary ratings on their ACGS through a scale of one (lowest) to five (highest) arrows. Only companies with a score of at least 80 points in their ACGS assessments would merit at least one arrow. In 2023, InLife received 4-golden arrow awards, the highest award achieved for the insurance industry.
