Music Connects: The Real School of Rock is the story of young people coming of age in a region still marked by the Yugoslav wars, using the power of rock music to bridge ethnic divides.
In Music Connects, three Balkan rock schools collaborate with a Dutch music college and an international nonprofit organization. The multi-ethnic music lessons, band rehearsals, studio sessions and concerts give young musicians a leading role in promoting inter-ethnic cooperation in their region.
This documentary follows the young musicians as they look past their differences and connect with each other through rock music.
