Big techs are swallowing up the AI industry, while avoiding buyouts! Take for example, Microsoft. The tech giant recently appointed the CEO of Inflection AI as their AI chief. Of course, they didn't just get a leader, they brought an entire AI team under their banner.
Now, following a similar playbook, Google has now hired Character AI co-founders: Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas. Both of them famously left Google in 2021, frustrated by their bureaucracy. Flashback to now, they are returning to work at Google DeepMind, along with their research team of about 30 people.
Big Techs aren’t just investing in AI… they’re absorbing it. All while cleverly avoiding outright buyouts, keeping innovation under their control.
