This part was so fun to work on, I don't care that it's not even summer where I am yet I am LIVING FOR THESE VIBES
Funny story, when I first signed up for the map it was the beginning of January, BUT over winter break I actually went down south and visited the ocean for the first time in my life and we got to go to a little beach town and everything was so aesthetically pleasing??? The beach was full of shells and there were palm trees everywhere and the town had a bunch of pastel beach houses and it was warm but not hot and I got to try fresh seafood for the first time and I know that everything there was probably designed for tourists like me but DANG IT IF IT DIDN'T GET THE INSPIRATION JUICES FLOWING
Plus there's the fact that I just love the idea of the ocean in general like; Subnautica is one of my favorite games of all time how could I resist an ocean shot??
And yes I absolutely based the background off of the shallow reefs in game. It was too pretty not to reference.

Experimental map?? With traditional art??? And IRL NATURE BACKGROUNDS????? I had to apply, I couldn't stop myself.
I ended up using some somewhat old videos that I took around a year ago!! There's this little place in the mountains where you can pull off, and it looks really unassuming, but if you follow the game trail you'll come across a river and then a BIG OL WATERFALL and it's really pretty! We've considered trying to climb down to see what it's like from the bottom, but we didn't wanna risk slipping on the rocks when we went get back up :'D
There's so real OCs or characters that I used, I just came up with a little bird design and used that!
