This is May's monthly pack, and this one I made entirely by myself. I tried to pick levels to fit a Japanese theme, with each level taking a different approach to the theme. The levels for the pack were Maki Roll, Good Vibes, Tohru, Japan Modern Thing, Osaka Nights, and Ainoseikatsu.
Maki Roll is a type of sushi, so I used the level to fit the Japanese theme despite the level itself not containing anything Japan related. It is a simple and fun 1.9 GDPS level that after a bit of learning is really nice to play
Good Vibes is probably the least fitting in terms of the Japanese theme, but I chose to include it since it is one of my favourite easy demons. The song is in Japanese, and the level contains different art, some of which originated from Japan (such as Pac Man and Super Mario). I felt like this was a nice pick since the level is really fun.
Tohru is themed after an anime called Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and it looks really nice. The art is so well designed, and the gameplay is really good too. I picked this since an anime themed level is quite an obvious choice for a Japan theme, and this level does the job really well.
Japan Modern Thing is really nice, while there isn't any particular theme, I really like this level so I thought it would be a nice pick. The only thing I don't like about this level is that some of the waves are really hard, but aside from that it is really good.
Osaka Nights is themed after late night lit up cities, and while the theming is incredible, the gameplay is not. There are a LOT of bad transitions, and there are also a number of pretty annoying chokepoints. The only reason I settled on this for the insane demon is because I literally couldn't find any other Japanese themed insane demons. Had there been a second choice, this likely wouldn't have made the pack but it was my only option.
Lastly, the extreme demon was Ainoseikatsu. This is the level that gave me the idea for the pack, and while I personally did not have a very good experience with it, almost every other person I have seen beat it really really enjoyed it. As such, I figured it would be a good choice, especially since the previous monthly packs all used an extreme harder than Bloodbath. Ainoseikatsu is one of the easiest extremes, and as such this pack is very accessible.
I hope people enjoy this pack, I tried my best to pick fun and accessible levels, but I feel as though Osaka Nights may not help with that. Regardless, I hope people can still enjoy it :)
