Weekly Update 22 April 2024 - AI Apps, API based Message Extensions, SP Pages API GA, ECS 2024
In this week's update, I share updates significant to Microsoft 365 developers, starting with the revised Microsoft Teams guidance for App Store submissions, emphasizing the inclusion of AI-generated content standards. I've detailed these updates in a blog post, highlighting the necessity for apps to disclose AI usage, avoid creating offensive content, implement a system for reporting harmful content, and respond promptly to such reports.
I also discuss the general availability of Microsoft Teams AI-based messaging extension, which simplifies integrating APIs with Teams through an Open API description. This can significantly reduce code and time for developers working on simpler APIs.
Another major update is the Microsoft Graph API for SharePoint pages now being generally available, ensuring developers have full support for various web parts, not just textual content.
Lastly, I spotlight the European Collaboration Summit 2024 in Germany from May 14th to May 16th, where Microsoft has a significant presence. The Summit is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insights from numerous Microsoft-led sessions.
