Sony ZV-1 vs iPhone 11 Pro | Which is the Best Vlogging Camera for YouTube?
Today I had a chance to shoot some footage comparing the Sony ZV1 vs the iPhone 11 Pro Max for vlogging on the move.
Please note that all the video samples from both devices were shot at 4K 24p. Due to the ludicrous file size of my FCPX project (60Gb!) I uploaded this Sony ZV-1 video in 1080p to make it available to prospective buyers as soon as I could.

ADDITIONAL OBSERVATIONS
GENERAL
I was keen to show you how the Sony ZV-1 performs IRL so I tried most of the available video exposure modes
I'd be happy to record a shoot out video with the ZV1 against the iPhone 11 Pro and the DJI Osmo Pocket (tell me if you are interested in the comment section)
There is no native 1080p 24p mode on the iPhone 11, so I shot everything in 4k
Please bear in mind I was holding both cameras (one on each hand): I would have produced more stable footage should I had focused just on the ZV1 (or the iPhone for that matter!)
This video took me truly forever to edit and upload, so THANK YOU in advance for your help promoting it
ZV1
It's a great all-rounder, especially fit for hybrid shooters (photo & video)
But it requires a bit more effort than a regular point and shoot (or smartphone) to get the best of this gem of a travel camera
Unarguably the Sony ZV-1 can produce a much more cinematic footage than any smartphones, even the excellent iPhone 11 Pro
Out of the box, there are one to many limitations to claim it is a great camera for vlogging, let alone The king of all vlogging cameras
If your type of vlogging is more "static" than "walking" it is a great option (so are the A6100 & A6400)
Eye AF in video mode is incredibly sticky, but... it seems like it is struggling a bit w/glasses?
I shot everything with only one battery... not too bad
IPHONE 11 PRO
It is significantly more convenient to use a smartphone to vlog than a compact camera, let alone a mirrorless camera
A high-end smartphone's stabe and auto HDR mode can't be beaten by a digital camera not leveraging AI natively, like the ZV1 (at least as of mid-June 2020)
As effective as the auto HDR mode is on the iPhone 11 Pro, the skin tones are often off (too red-ish)
The iPhone 4k file size is significantly smaller than the Sony ZV-1's which is going to help if your computer is getting old
