Freight trains Galore at Retzbach-Zillingen & Himmelstadt - 26/5/22
My first ever visit to the Main Valley route on the 26th of May as I’d heard this route was fantastic for freight traffic volumes and photography locations. Sure enough it was really busy, you can easily see over 100 freights within 12 hours. Plenty of interesting trains to be seen here, including 218s, V100 + V363 combo, Rail Adventure 183 500 with some brand new Italian units & some of the new Stadler Euroduals. Filmed between Retzbach-Zellingen and Himmelstadt stations. I highly recommend this section of line to anyone who wishes to photograph German railfreight. A long video I know, but this just shows how much traffic passes this route. All filmed between 0830 & 1600, note that we had over an hour of no traffic due to a points failure nearby!
