Operail General Electric C36-7s in Estonia - April 2022.
In April 2022 I took a trip to Estonia to try and see some of the former Union Pacific imported GE C36-7 locos in action. Thankfully I managed to see quite a few thanks to Martin (AKA diselrong on YouTube). Unique in the fact that these are the only American locos to operate in the Baltics (the rest use Soviet stock still) & indeed Europe. These machines make a fantastic noise when under power & thankfully I managed to get a few sounding excellent. In recent years the traditional 'EWS' style red & gold livery has been replaced by a blue band on the active locos with the stored ones retaining the yellow stripe. Filmed between Tallinn & Narva, in order we see:
1: 1531 + 1516 depart Muuga depot
2: in awful weather conditions, the pair are seen traversing the Maardu freight only line with a large freight train
3: Now the pair are seen again near Lagedi station, thrashing well and sounding superb with their train to Narva
4: Only 30 mins later, we see 1514 + 1522 heading near Lagedi station, heading to Maardu Yard
5: 1522 storms along the mainline at Lehtse between Tapa & Tallinn, with a freight train to Narva
6: 1506 decends the steep incline into Tapa station, with a freight bound for Tapa Yard from Narva
7: 1506 passes Tapa light engine

9: 1523 arrives into Rakevere station
10: 1523 chugs away from Rakevere heading for Maardu
11: only minutes later, 1511 storms through Rakvere also heading for Tapa/Maardu
12-13: 1537 shunts at Vaivara station
14: 1537 departs a windy Vaivara with a very short rake of wagons towards Tapa
15: 1506 + 1501 shunt at Narva
16-19: 1506 & 1537 shunt & depart Vaivara
20: 1537 chugs past the camera near Jõhvi bound for Tapa
21: shortly followed by 1506 also chugging away for Maardu
