The cape is formed from two rectangles, each 70 cm long and 40 cm high. You can knit the cape in any pattern. We're knitting a simple openwork pattern with a repeat of 8 stitches.
For the rectangle, cast on 125 stitches as usual and knit 24 pattern repeats in height. The pattern is provided in the video.
Bind off the stitches as usual. Loosely. Knit a second identical rectangle.
Send the pieces to a WTO. I machine washed them on the hand wash cycle. Dry them flat, spread out. Shape them. Block. Steam the pieces.
Sew the short side of the first piece to the long side of the second piece. The second seam is the opposite: sew the long side of the piece to the short side.
