Measure your chest circumference. I have 50 cm. Add 10 cm for freedom of fit and multiply by the density in the loops. Cast on the required number of stitches + 2 edge stitches in the usual way.
Work up to the armholes in stockinette stitch. Knit the edges both in the front rows and in the purl rows. Divide the loops into the back and shelves.
Knit in separate pieces, decreasing to form a V-neck every fourth row.
Knit the height of the armholes. The back should be a couple of cm longer for a better fit. Leave the loops open.
Sew the shoulder seams using a crochet hook.
Get the loops for the sleeves. Form a sleeve cap. Knit the sleeve to the desired length, making decreases to narrow it.
Tie the cardigan around the entire perimeter using a crochet hook.
Send the cardigan to the WTO. Machine wash on hand wash cycle. Dry flat on a horizontal surface.
