Hey, what's up everybody? It's your boy MoistCritikal here and today we're going to be talking about washing your clothes. Yeah, I know, it's not the most exciting topic in the world, but listen up because this is some real interesting stuff. So, we've got Tim, a software engineer, who hasn't washed his clothes in a year. Yeah, a whole year. Now, that's some commitment right there. He's got the right idea though, why waste your precious time and energy on laundry when you could be doing something way more fun. I mean, he's got a load of clothes, so it's not like he's wearing the same thing over and over again. He's just saving water and detergent, which is great for the environment. But here's the thing, Tim's not alone in this. We've got Daniel, a teacher, who only washes his denim when there's a disaster like milk spillage. Sounds reasonable right? And then we've got Jenny who started using odour-eliminating mist instead of washing her clothes as often, and Ken who only washes his clothes once a week using soap nuts and washes at 30C. These guys are doing their bit for the planet and saving some money in the process. It's a win-win situation. Now, I know some of you might be thinking eww, gross, these guys must smell terrible. But, that's not the case. They change their clothes when they start to smell, and they don't wear the same thing over and over again. They're just not washing as often as we're used to, and that's okay. Plus, Tom, a psychiatric nurse, says his wool clothes have a magical repelling property, so they don't pick up odours. Pretty cool, right? And let's not forget about the impact on our clothes. Charlotte, who works in sustainability and fashion, says that post-purchase washing has a really big impact and that washing really wears your clothes out. That's why she only washes her clothes when she needs to, and spot-cleans marks and stains. She's from New Zealand where washing at low or cold temperatures is normal, and I think we could learn a thing or two from her. It's all about breaking the habit of washing our clothes after every wear and being mindful. Michele, a graphic designer and drummer, says that clothes could be worn many times, with an airing in between. She doesn't see the need to wash after just one wear, and that's fair enough. Why waste water and energy if you don't have to? Plus, manufacturers are making money out of our fear of dirt and promoting ridiculous levels of \u2018cleanliness\u2019. It's time to take a step back and re-evaluate our habits. But let me be clear, I'm not saying don't wash your clothes at all. If you spilled spaghetti sauce on your shirt, please wash it. But if you're just wearing your clothes for a few hours and they don't smell bad, there's no need to wash them after just one wear. It's time to break the cycle and do our bit for the environment. So, that's about it. Thanks for listening and see ya.
