Mailchimp + Salesforce: Part 4 - Update Unsubscribes in Mailchimp Using a Journey
IMPORTANT NOTE: MailChimp has removed their free app from the AppExchange - BUT you are still able to download the free app if you have the link: https://appexchange.salesforce.com/ap.... There is a new paid app from Beaufort12 that is listed as the 'Official Mailchimp Salesforce integration'. We are sure the free app will be going away and this means all of the enhancements we show you in this video will be obsolete. We are currently working on evaluating the new paid app to understand the keys differences and what needs to be bolted on to enhance the integration. We will come out with a video series on how to extend the functionality in the paid app so you can achieve the same results you had with the free app.

In this video, we will show you how to unsubscribe a Contact in Mailchimp when they are unsubscribed in Salesforce.
There is a way to unsubscribe a Contact from Mailchimp inside Salesforce using the Manage Subscriptions button on the Visualforce page in the Mailchimp package. This will unsubscribe the Contact in Mailchimp and then update the Email Opt Out field in Salesforce.
BUT...if you have any fields that trigger a process to update Email Opt Out = True or if your users use this checkbox to opt people out, then you need to build a special solution to sync these unsubscribes to Mailchimp. The Mailchimp sync blocks all Leads and Contacts with Email Opt Out = True from syncing to Mailchimp. You then have to manually opt them out in Mailchimp. In this video, we will show you how to build a way to sync these unsubscribes to Mailchimp automagically!
