Azuki #7450 Animation for @Csaw07
This one was a very fun one to work on, as it required me to really feel the song and animate the character as such to headbang as I would to the song. So the animation process really required lots of back & forth of going over each small part and making sure he acts as I would reacting to this song. Took quite a bit of refining to get that to feel right and transfer the energy to this character.
Also the involvement of mouth lip-sync animation for a bit, was also interesting to do, I've never really done something like that, as also generally, this type of animation is not my main area of work.
In terms of colors, lighting, environment, effects; here I really used very many tricks, most invisible to the average viewer to get this to feel very cinematic and real. My inspiration were films from the late 80s - early 90s in NYC which I really like.
And I tried to recreate that look here with things such as anamorphic lenses (+flares) accurate bokehs, distortions, artifacts, custom film grain, adaptive and multi-layered custom sharpening methods + simulating things such as camera exposure and such, but all manually animated.
Also everything was done in a industry standard VFX-specific Colorspace which allows for much greater range of colors and truly realistic and accurate depiction of colors, color values, brightness ranges.
