In this video we show you how to best protect yourself from burglary and gunfire.
How to protect your house or apartment from gunshots? By covering the weakest points. Windows. What you need to protect your family and belongings are bulletproof windows. To find out which glass is bulletproof, we started a series of tests and fired a Glock 17, a Revolver 629, an AK47 "Kalashnikov" and a NATO G3 at the different types of bulletproof glass. This much in advance: Even if your interest in bulletproof glass is on a very low level - you will like the video!
Conventional triple-glazed insulating glass is certainly not good protection. One shot is enough and the window will break - three layers of glass notwithstanding. Three layers of glass are not three times safer.
Because this is the case, there is bullet-proof glass. For this purpose, several layers of glass are laminated together to form one. But conventional bulletproof glass is not transparent; it has a slight green tint. In addition, conventional bulletproof glass weighs around 185 kilograms per square meter.
At SILATEC, we use a different method to manufacture our bulletproof glass. Instead of combining several layers of glass into one, we supplement our glass with highly transparent polymer, among other things. This not only allows us to achieve maximum transparency without a green tint - at just 100 kilograms per square meter, our safety glass is also significantly lighter.
This is also shown by the direct comparison in the video. The two firearms experts Frank Thiel and Thomas Hoff shoot handguns - a Glock 17 (9 millimeter) and a Revolver 629 (44 Magnum) - at conventional bulletproof glass and bulletproof glass from SILATEC. Both fire two shots each at the bullet-resistant bulletproof glass and the bulletproof SILATEC glass. This is followed by two shots each from long guns, an AK47 (7.62 x 39) and a NATO G3 (7.62 x 51). You can see the result in the video!
Those who take the risk to act with a firearm often also have a sledgehammer with them. Bulletproof windows alone are not enough. Burglar-proof is the keyword. And this is precisely where conventional bulletproof glass reveals massive deficits. It only takes 15 seconds for burglars to get through with a sledgehammer. The bullet-proof glass from SILATEC is completely different. After almost 2 minutes of working with a sledgehammer, sometimes even by two people, there is still no way through with SILATEC glass. Why? Because it is not only bullet-proof, but even burglar-proof glass. Bulletproof alone only provides limited protection. Bulletproof windows must also be burglar-proof. And only SILATEC can do that.
