Right now, my time management sucks. I’ve been grinding non-stop on engineering just to get my product functional… and it’s killing my startup. My marketing and sales efforts are almost nonexistent.
Here’s how my time has been split lately:
💻 Engineering/Product: 90%
📈 Marketing/Sales: 10%
🛠️ Operations & Fundraising: 0%
Basically, I’ve been in build mode, completely neglecting the actual things that will grow my startup. But that has to change.
The Plan:
I need to flip my priorities and start treating marketing as the most important thing. Here’s the new breakdown:
📈 Marketing/Sales: 50%
💻 Engineering/Product: 30%
🛠️ Operations & Fundraising: 20%
Daily Routine Adjustments:
Mornings → Marketing & content (when my brain is fresh)
Afternoons → Engineering & product tweaks
Evenings → Operations, Planning & catching up on deep work
I’m also focusing on doing the hardest, highest-leverage tasks first, so I don’t push them to the end of the day when I’m already wiped out.
This is just part 1 of my startup founder journey, where I share what’s working (and what’s not) as I figure things out.
If you’re a founder struggling with time management too, drop a comment—I’d love to hear how you handle it.
