This is a composition that I have worked on for a while...It comes to my attention that I haven't done a lengthy composition for a while now!
Initially posted as a competition entry on Bilibili, this suite describes a journey towards a fantastical oceanside town. In movement I, the vibrant music welcomes the arrivals to the town and lets the newcomers experience the bustling vibe. Movement II then sets in with a calm lullaby and reminds people about the tranquillity and peace that the nights of the town can bring. Finally, this suite finishes with a battle theme where the residents and heroes must defend against the invading pirates.
I have done quite a bit of experimental writing on this work. I have attempted using some harmonic writing, modulation and orchestration techniques that I haven't been as ambitious as before. The result is that I felt the soul within my music has returned, and I no longer is making "factory-like" music anymore! :D
