Riding behind George England 0-4-0ST+T No 4 'Palmerston' of 1864 from the Ffestiniog Railway during its visit to the Vale of Rheidol Railway in August 2024.
After highlights of the lower sections, the video shows the complete run from Capel Bangor to Devil's Bridge. The loco was struggling with what was described as a "tender full of slack" causing the spark arrestor to get clogged, resulting in lengthy stops at both Rheidol Falls & Rhiwfron in order to empty the smokebox, and an arrival in Devil's Bridge almost half an hour late. Despite this, the loco itself had pressure to spare with the safety valves lifting several times during the climb, whilst the final half mile or so into the terminus was attacked with verve and vigour.
