Wondering does copy paper work for Sublimation printing ? Well watch and find out as I try pressing a Polyester napkins using sublimation inks on Hammermill Copy Paper on my heat press.
And NO Dye Sublimation Companies have NOT been lying to us...LOL They know copy paper can be used but because it was not designed for sublimation ink the paper does not absorb the ink as well as specifically designed (for sublimation ink) paper and therefor you might not get the same bright colors as with regular sublimation paper on your final product/sublimation substrate.
Dye Sublimation experiments are fun to try but Copy Paper Or Multipurpose paper is not recommended for everyday use. But it is nice to know you might be able to use your printers copy paper in a pinch.
I used Hammermill Copy Paper 28 Lbs instead of regular sublimation paper. At time of recording it was under 10.00 for 500 On Amazon and Office Supplies.com
