Steps
1. To get started, slide the larger ruby crystal onto the headpin followed by the smaller ruby crystal.
2. Next make a loop in the head pin wire. To do this, grasp the headpin wire above the beads with the round-nose pliers. Bend the tail of the wire over the pliers to make a 90-degree bend. Reposition the round-nose pliers to the top of the bend. Grasp the tail of the wire and pull it over the pliers to form a partial loop. Reposition the round-nose pliers so the bottom jaw is in the partial loop. Pull the wire tail the rest of the way around to form a complete loop.
3. Slide the gold connector ring into the loop in the headpin.
4. Grasp the loop across with the pliers and pull the tail around the neck two times.
5. Trim the end of the wire with wire cutters.
6. Open a jump ring. You can use two pairs of pliers or a jump ring opener. To use a jump ring opener, place it on your index finger. Pick up a jump ring with the pliers and set it into the slot in the ring. Rotate the pliers.
7. Feed the tag onto the jump ring, then slide the connector ring into the jump ring. Close the jump ring.
8. Open the earring wire loop, slide the connector ring in, then close the loop.
9. Repeat to make a second earring.
