Mortgage Rates Fall after Inflation Eases in May (CPI report)

Late last year, the markets were forecasting for rate cuts from the Federal Reserve to start as early as this Spring but inflation has remained stubbornly high. As such, at the conclusion of their June meeting, the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. This will likely cause mortgage interest rates to remain elevated and U.S. home sales subdued. However, it was also announced today that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for May came in below expectations. This is a positive sign that inflation may be headed in the right direction and the Fed could start cutting rates later this year.

In today’s video, I share all the details plus the latest housing market trends for the United States (links below for my sources).
