How To Knit - Herringbone Stitch/Pattern

The herringbone pattern knits up beautifully for all types of knitting projects!
This pattern results in a relatively dense knit so I recommend using a larger needle size than what the yarn calls for.
(The yarn I'm using in this video calls for US size 13 needles, but I am using US size 15.)
Also, make sure you cast on very loosely. I am naturally a very tight knitter so I had to cast on my yarn around 2 needles and remove one needle before I started my first row. This allowed for a loose yet even cast on.
There are a couple of ways to achieve a herringbone pattern; in this video I demonstrate:
Row 1: K2tog tbl, drop only one stitch repeat until last stitch, K1
Row 2: P2tog, drop only one stitch repeat until last stitch, P1
You can also achieve a herringbone design with the pattern below:
Row 1: Ssk, drop only one stitch until last stitch, K1.
Row 2: P2tog, drop only one stitch until last stitch, P1.
