Amazing CNC Mods for Control Panel Layouts - Industrial Life Science Controls!
First panel backplane run through the CNC. Layout was so much cleaner and faster. Did find some unexpected challenges, especially around DIN rail and Panduit slot locations.
When we CAD the panel layouts, we did not include the inner slots used for securing it to the back plane. Turns out, the location of the slots are highly dependent on how it is cut. We ended up with about 30% more waste on this run as we needed a couple off-set cuts to ensure the slots aligned with the holes. Good learning experience for Natalie and I. I’m sure the next one will be even cleaner. But if anyone has any pro-tips on how to get those slots aligned properly from CAD to physical world, we’re all ears.
