Finding Love at Disneyland
Realizing this changed the way I view Disneyland 💜
In case you’re wondering who the two Imagineers were that I mentioned, that would be Marc and Alice Davis. They first fell in love as they were working on the animated film Sleeping Beauty together. Disney studios needed someone to make the costume for the reference footage of Briar Rose, and Marc remembered Alice’s tremendous talent with fabrics and suggested her for the job. They fell in love, and years later, Marc and Alice would be one of the couples that inspired Carl and Ellie in the Pixar movie Up (you can see Alice’s name credited at the end).
Marc and Alice even had something they called the Anther Biz fund to help people who had “life” happen like a flat tire or medical bills, which they kept in a glass jar (which might sound familiar if you are a fan of Up).
While love is illustrated at Disneyland in all kinds of stories, the most important ones are your own. You deserve love that chases after you, that loves you through fire, and that holds onto you even when it’s hard.
Whatever form that takes for you, be it friends, family, or your own love story, know that you are worthy of such love, and never settle for anything less. 💜
