It doesn’t even feel like it’s that time anymore
It feels like I’ve never had a real Christmas before
These back to back holidays are stressing me out.
To be honest, Christmas is something that I could live without.
And I wish the holidays felt the same from when I was young.
But now I care what others think and now I bite my tongue.
In grade school, we ate cookies and
watched polar express.
But now I can’t stop myself from worrying over my final tests.
Everything is here. So why does it feel wrong.
The cookies, the cocoa, and repeated Christmas songs.
The Christmas Tree, the shining lights, lighting up the night.
Everything’s together, but it still doesn’t feel right.
They say Christmas is time for family and those you love.
But for me there isn’t a single person I could think of.
Seeing all these others feeling happy in the snow.
While I’m wandering alone, standing under mistletoe.
But the worst part of it all, is all the Christmas songs.
It’s like the same 4 playing on loop all day long.
And they’re playing everywhere, it’s like there’s no escape.
It’s as if going in public is the most fatal mistake
I don’t understand how people stroll with happiness and thrill.
When all they’re doing is just raising up their own electric bill.
Stressing over time and money, leading up to this.
And once the holiday is over, you’ll be left in an abyss.
But it’s the Holidays! Time to spend all of you cash!
For most people you hang out with, but you’d really like to thrash.
But you’ll smile through the agony because it’s Christmas time.
And if you don’t subdue to these same rituals, then it’s a crime!
But sometimes i wonder that what if it’s just me?
What if it has nothing to do with the Christmas Tree?
Maybe I’ve outgrown it and it’s just not my thing.
But either way, I have no choice and I’m forced to wait til Spring.
