The Studebaker Avanti was Studebaker's attempt to keep up with Ford and General Motor's more sporty offerings on the market. While a good attempt, the writing was already on the wall for Studebaker. Paired with production delays resulting in low sales of the Avanti, the Studebaker Corporation would be gone shortly after. Today, Avantis are beloved amongst enthusaists and benefit from a strong community of Avanti lovers.
